Post 13 - Photo-shoot Plan

This is our photo shoot schedule to make sure we know when all of the photos will be taken. This is so that we can make sure we have the appropriate costumes with us and all the props that we need for the photo shoot. It also prepares us in case the time table doesn't go to plan because other things come in the way and at least we will know that we have other slots that are available just in case. It also tells us the locations we will be in and what photos we will be taking whilst we are there.

Post 15 - Talent Release Forms

Talent Release Forms;

These are our talent release forms which is a legal document in which we have all signed to make sure that there are no sudden dramatic changes when it comes to the filming. It means that now they have signed it, they can not go back on their word as they have already given out the permission that is required of them. It also states what days we will need them and where they are expected to be. They are also given information on what the production company is and who the producer is.It also gives us a little bit of contact information for each member of our company meaning that if we needed to quickly get hold of them, we could.

Post 14 - Location Permissions Letter

This is the permissions letter for us to use Andrews house for a few of our location shots. We have mentioned the days that we are planning on filming so that if they have a problem or are busy on that day they will know before hand. This will mean that we will have the information needed ahead of ourselves to make sure that we can quickly change the dates.

This is the other permissions letter which we will give out to the other locations as they are less specific. Below we have emailed our Morden Hall Park location just to ask if we could have their permission to film in their location. We are still yet waiting on a response and if we receive on we will screen grab and insert that here.  We have made sure that we mention we are a A2 group and the dates that we plan on filming there. This is so that if an event comes up and the whole place is busy, they can let us know.

Post 12 - Adverts Designs

These are the scans of our Rock album advertisements designs. We have all gone for slightly different looks to make sure that we have a variety to choose from when it comes to picking our final idea. We will choose a part from every advertisement to make sure we are including everyone's work from our group. We have gone for two Photoshop designs and two drawn designs. This is so that we can see how the different media's look and within the drawings we could be more free with our designs. We have decided to try and involve the iconic monkey within our adverts as this would become an iconic figure that people would recognise with the band.
Two of the advertisements are in black and white and the other two are in colour. This is because we are not yet sure which one will look better and will reflect our genre more. We quite like the effect that black and white has on the viewer and feel it shows quite a lot of emotion which is good for a Rock band.

We have chosen to stick to the stereotypical conventions of an advertisement by making sure that we include an image of the artist, the artists name, the album name and the release date. In my poster, I have decided to include the image of a monkey as it will become very iconic within the band and will be featured in everything. I have decided to place the band members within the middle of the poster because I feel it will then draw in the audience more and will therefore be more eye catching. In the final advertisement, our group will try to include quotes from other producers or companies to help bring across the real look to our album.

Post 10 - Shooting Schedule

This is the shooting schedule that we will stick too when carrying out our music video. We have jotted down all the equipment's and props that we will need for each section to make sure that nothing is forgotten that will lead into us not being able to film on that day. We have given ourselves extra time to make sure all the shots that we need are perfect and if we do need to re-shoot we have the time necessary for this. This will also make sure that we have enough time to get the editing done in the way that we want it and to make sure our video sticks with the stereotypical conventions successfully.

Post 11 - CD Cover Design

This is Liam's CD design and he has gone with our final band name 'The Bass Monkeys'. He has decided to use a monkey mask on the album cover. This will reflect the band name and their monkey icon which will be seen on various different items. He has also chosen to go along with a black and white theme because he feels it reflects the moods and emotions of a Rock band well. His design also fits in with the stereotypical conventions because he has featured the bands faces, band name and album name all on the CD.

This is Kieran's CD album cover idea. He has gone a long with the band name 'Three Way Mile' and he has titled the album 'Atlas'. He has predominantly used the colours green red and blue as he feels these are the colours that reflect the world/earth. He has also stuck to the convention as he has shown some images of instruments within each little design.

This is my design and I have chosen to go along with the band name ' Bass Monkeys' and the CD album name 'Triple Monkey Business'. I have decided to mainly use shots of the band and their instruments because in the Rock genre they are all about their music. I have then decided to have have a shot of each band member on their own and one as a group because I feel that it is important to recognise each member individually as well as separately.

This is Andrew's design and he has gone for our overall name 'Bass Monkeys'. He has decided to base his around lots of close up shots of the band and the instruments involved. He has used just the band name within each image so that we can easily change around each shot when it is necessary as we felt we needed one idea that we can use in many different ways.

Post 8 - Lists of props, Costumes, Make-up and Equipment

The Prezi below shows all the Mise en scene that I will need to successfully stick to the stereotypical conventions of a Rock music video. It explains the different items that I need for my character and why I need them. It also includes the images so that I can have a rough idea on what my outfit is going to look like. This is so that I can make sure it fits in with all the conventions that are necessary. It also helps me to remember what equipment I will need so that I do not forget anything on the day of filming.

Post 7 - Storyboards

These are images of our story board being held up by Andrew. This is to show proof of the original storyboard. It shows all of our shots in one place and to show our process through each shot. It also shows the original ideas and colours that we first came up with when faces with the idea of a storyboard.

These are shots of our final storyboard all pieced together on one piece of paper in a flip book style. We then photographed each image individually and put these into a form of an animatic video. This will help show the order of our rock music video and also gives us the chance to see if any of the shots do not work well together. We realised that some of the shots look quite long on the video but when it comes to the real thing they wont seem as long as there will be more action going on at the time. It has helped us to see the video as a whole and to help piece together what our final outcome could look like.

Post 9 - Location Shots

Location One:

These shots of the front room location where the band would be playing throughout the video and more towards the end. Instead of having this more homely look to the room, we wall dress it up in older, rustic looking blankets and pillows. This is because when we have looked at previous videos including 'Walk' by the Foo Fighters, at the end they have had older looking rugs and furniture to give the room a more Rock feel.  It is also a good size as its a medium size and that means that when we put the instruments into the room, it will look more cramped which it would is it expected in the rock genre. It is also situated close enough to where we would need to bring the instruments from meaning that it is suitable in many ways.

This doorway leads to the hallway which is where some of the shots for the band could be taken. This would give the shots a more secretive feel as it would be like we were peering at them practicing in their own environment and wont look so forced. It will also be a challenge to try and get all the instruments through the doorway. This could be a problem that we could encounter but we will try everything to best avoid this situation. This is also the door in which will be seen in the music video when Myself and Andrew will be arguing. This scene will involve him being kicked out and this is the area where the boxes will be thrown. This is the sort of shot that you will see in the background of the rest of the camera shots. As it is in the middle of being decorated, we feel it is perfect location because it gives the house a more rock feel whilst giving the impression that the couple had not finished decorating yet.

This is a shot of the outside of the house where the the 'being kicked out' scene will occur. It is a good location as it has the big open window which has a good size compartment that opens up which is a big enough to chuck the boxes out of. It also means we can have camera shots of his reflection in the window whilst shes looking out so they are both in the same shot. This will give this location a more interesting feel. It is also good because there is various places in which the camera can be placed to get the most interesting shots.

Location Two:

For this scene, we will have the shots of the guy continuing on with his bad luck by missing the train. We will film this at St Helier train station as it has an open plan which we can use to film successfully. We can use the stairs to our advantage as it means that we can have high birds eye shots of the guy and his band friend. This would make them seem slightly lower than us at the time due to the fact that he is having all this bad luck. Also we can have the establishing shot of a panning shot of them walking through the arch down to the train station area.

Location Three:

These are the shots that we have taken at Morden Hall Park which is another of our locations. We have chosen to film here because it is easy enough to get to for all of us which means we can visit back easily if more shots are needed. It also suits the theme and genre of our Rock music video which  means it is a location which will meet all the expected conventions. It is also usually quite quiet which helps the filming as we will not get distracted or interrupted as easily by members of the public.

This is the bench that the main guy will be sitting at when the flashback and bad luck happens to him. We thought that this was in a good place because it is surrounded by a lot of greenery which means we will have a lot of room to film in. It is also a nice place for the flashback to happen as it is surrounded by flowers and pretty gardens which helps build up the atmosphere.

This is the path in which the two characters will walk off down to get out of the park. It will also be the way in which the main character comes in as it is a nice scenic route and gives way for us to have room for filming. As it is such a long path, it means that we can have a variety of shot types to help portray our Rock music genre.

This is the river which runs through the whole park. We thought that this would be a nice shot too include within our music video as it shows the pretty side to the park just before his bad luck hits him again.

Post 3 - Song Details

For our chosen song we decided to use 'Learnt My Lesson Well' by the Kaiser Chiefs.

We decided to choose this song because we feel it will fit in well with the stereotypical conventions that we need to meet. You can also hear each individual instrument which means that when performing, we can have shots that will go with the particular part in the music. The lyrics are also easy to hear and learn so that when performing, the person lip synching will be able to do it in time with the music. This will also help the continuity editing to look more professional. As a group, we also like how the music builds up and slows down in certain areas which is needed to help build up the atmosphere. The song also has a live atmosphere to it which helps us to think of different locations we could use to film. The genre of this song is Indie Rock, this help us know what sort of costumes we should wear.
