The second time that we filmed we went out to do the first few shots to the 'kicked out' scene to our music video. The scene features Andrew being kicked out by Sophie and portrays the anger she has for him. To show the audience this anger, we can see Sophie pushing, slapping, chucking boxes and shouting at Andrew to get him out of the house. At the end we put we filmed shots where Andrew is shown on his own to represent the feeling of loneliness. He will then go off after, lip syncing the lyrics to the song carrying his boxes down the road. We tried a variety of different camera angles to try and find ones that hold the most emotion towards the piece. It was also useful because it shows us what angles would work better to view the action more.We also had all the props and costumes that we needed to make sure that we got the Rock lock and feel to our music video across. This included black skinny jeans and a rock top for Sophie. Andrew was wearing a smart blazer, white top and black jeans. They were both wearing black eyeliner as we feel that this is relevant to the Rock genre.
This is Andrew and Sophie in mid action whilst practicing the pushing within in the scene. We found that we had to re-take this shot on multiple occasions as it did not look as realistic as we would have liked. This image was taken from multiple images of the different practice pushes. You can see the rest of the images in the YouTube video below.
This is Sophie practicing slapping Andrew for our music video. this was practiced on a few occasions to make sure it looked realistic and like something that would appear within this scene. We also needed to see what angles would be appropriate in order to be able to see the slap fully.
This is a GIF taking clips from our shots that we had taken. They involve the boxes being thrown from different angles as we wanted to see what would look best. We have also slowed down the clips to see how it would look in our final piece. This it to help us see whether it would work or not.
The YouTube video below shows two different 'pushing' techniques that we photographed. These were a practice to make sure that when it came down to filming the real footage I knew which technique is the most successful to push Andrew.
